November 2020

Hello friends!

It’s hard to believe that a year ago our home at 10 Dundas E. was simply an empty space with concrete walls awaiting the story that would fill them next. Since then, we’ve accomplished so much, all while facing the impacts of a pandemic. With winter right at our doorstep, it reminds us that each day we’re a little closer to welcoming you all, and we can’t wait for when that day comes.

This month has been a busy one. We’ve received some really exciting media mentions from our friends in the big world, our Makers have been working hard to set up and organize their new workshop, and we have a new team member who’s joined our team.

Settling In And Setting Up Our New Home

Little Canada’s Makers have set up their new digs at 10 Dundas E. The Miniature Makers Space will be the creative hub for our talented team. A feature in itself, the space will further connect our guests to the miniature world by giving them a first-hand look into the work of our makers and how they build it all.

Little Canada Maker, Aliyah said, “It makes my job that much more special seeing the reactions of our guests as we build.  Having them experience and ask questions about the creation process gives them an understanding of what goes into building this big little world.”

Big World Mentions

Last week, John Phillipson had the opportunity to sit down with our friends from 680 News to share our story about the unique experience we’re building and give listeners an update on our plans for launch.

Listen to the clip here.

Also this month, Little Canada got a spot in the Niagara Falls Review. Review Reporter, Allison Langley wrote a great piece with focus on our Little Niagara destination, why we chose to represent it in our little world and what guests can expect during their visit, highlighting features such as the Littlization Station.

Welcome to the team, Andrew!

Please give a big Little Canada welcome to Andrew Ma, Little Canada’s new Site Coordinator. His focus will be supporting the team with their on-site needs, developing and maintaining the site schedule and keeping the many little happenings at Little Canada in order.

We’re thrilled to have you on our team and even in your short time with us, you’ve made such an impact that we don’t know what we would do without you.
